We run an exchange server and I have one user whose Outlook 2000 client is acting strange. i.e. When mail is sent him, it doesnt immediately show in his inbox. If he clicks on any piece of mail already in the inbox, then the new mail shows right up. If he waits awhile, the new mail will eventually show up, but it should be showing up right away... Anyone have any information regarding this matter that might help?... Thanks I very much appreciate it.

Hi Matt,

Check the Outlook settings of that user.
Go to Tools->Options->EMail Setup
Is the Send immediately option checked?
Click on "Send/Receive..." and check the settings there.

P.S: Here's how to get the best solutions: faq222-2244
;-)

Hope that helps,
Andy

How in the world did you change the thread title? [3eyes]
Know the operator? [lol]
If not: would be a good trick (e.g. to be able to add "SOLVED:" before the thread title...)

Thanks... I believe it is checked. Strange, but when i close and open the client, the first message sent seems to come right away, and then the problem starts. The user has a spam blocker running, but i shut it down and restarted the client and the problem persists. Thanks for your idea... I will double check on that, but i think that option is checked.. PS, I didnt change the thread title, the forum administrator did to make this posting useful to others by describing the problem in the thread title.

I see! :-D Thanks, Admin!

P.S: Good idea to check the spam blocker. Checked the Antivirus SW?
Perhaps it gets locked in some scan. Might also be some not fully compatible SW. Do your users all run the same AV engine? If so, perhaps installing latest AV updates and Office SPs might help.
If not, changing the AV Software might do the trick..

Good luck!

Thanks... I dont think it is the AV, as all the users use the same one and the engines are all the same. Waiting for user to finish doing whatever he is doing before i can attempt repair again. Thanks.
