Hello
On a windows 2k pro machine when I go into User Manager, I have noticed a couple of users have settings greyed out that dont make sense to me. This is only happening on a couple of users, they have 2 checks that are greyed out (I cant change them as administrator) the funny thing is the boxes checked are as follows: User must change password at next logon (checked and grey) as well as User cannot change password (this too is checked and grey).

Has anyone seen this before and is there a way to ungrey/uncheck these options.
Logging in as the user there is no prompt to change the password and they are allowed to login fine.

Thanks in advance.

you might check to see if these users have restrictive policies set for them.

Corie

Nothing in policies I checked there, thx for the feedback though.

1) Notify the user that the account needs to be recreated (there was an error - which is true).

2) Then back up the user's personal files, and recreate the account with a password set.

3) Restore the personal files.

4) Set the policy and checkboxes the way you want.

5) The user then will log in and change the password to preference. The problem will be corrected.
