I had an employee ask this and I just had to see if it is true or not, I don't think it is but here it is.

Does the printer that is installed on your computer prevent you from making documents in Word that the printer cannot print? Such as poster type documents that are larger than the printers largest paper size.

If I have no printers installed on my computer, will Word disable me from making any documents?

A polar bear walks into a bar and says, "Can I have a ... beer?"
The bartender asks, "What's with the big pause?

You can still make them, but the paper size option will not be available for those sizes, since it comes from the printer driver. You would have to define it as custom size.

Just curious, how were you going to print them?

I have an HP LaserJet 4200 N printer and I did the following test in Word...

22"x22" (max allowed) Custom Paper Size (Portrait)

Set all margins to .5", but it reset them to:

Top: .5"
Bottom: 11.17"
Left: .5"
Right: 13.68"

and resulted in:

Continued from previous post...

Font size: 72pt
Justification: Full

I typed the text and the result shown in my previous post shows how the text doesn't cover even half the page.
