Strange problem with ePO 3.5 1

Hi all!

Lately I've been experiencing problems with our ePO 3.5 installation. Policy settings are being ignored by clients and servers running VSE 8.0i i.e. when applying certain policy settings to VSE 8.0i via ePO 3.5 they are being ignored.
I've also noted that when trying to run a deployment task which has been set to uninstall VSE 8.0i it is also ignored. However DAT deployments via ePO 3.5 are being deployed successfully.
I've installed the latest patch for ePO 3.5 i.e patch 5 and so I cannot understand why this is happening. Has anyone encountered this strange behaviour before?

You know what McAfee support is absolute sh1*e.
No one there seems to know epo. One guy tells me that when I add patch 11 to the repository it should appear in my update task settings. Then another guys says oh no its done via the client server communication option!
(neither is working at the moment)
I also look after symantec and it is so much easier to administrate!
