It is a strange problem i am facing in my life.!! Can somebody pls help on this.!!!

Hi! A couple of ideas to pursue:
1)Try to see if you can get to safe mode. If so, go to device manager and uninstall the current video card and let it reinstall and see what happens.

2)If that does not work, try a different video card.

Have you also tried to boot up with just a video card by itself? Could be a conflict with something else.

Good luck!

Hi Grez

Thanks for ur reply. The PC is not booting from the harddrive, It can boot from Floppy and CD drive. I changed the hard disk with another but it is the same!! And i put the hard disk of the compter to another It works fine!

Secondly, Video card is working fine i think bcos it is show the POST screen and immediately after POST it is going blank!!

Is ther any other troubleshootng to be done!
regards

OK, let's dig deeper:

1)Definitely try another IDE cable at this point.

2)Check the BIOS for all IDE ports to be enabled.

3)Check for bent pins on the mobo at the IDE port connector.

Try these and hopefully you'll find it!

it could be that the video card gives to high refresh rate.
i've had problems with myself ,this as im having 17 inch LCD
rrate on this is max 60hz in 1280x1024 if adapter gives 75hz
it goes black .

grez is on the right track-hd works in another pc but not recognized in first one means that there are bent pins on the motherboard ide socket or the motherboard's ide controller is dead. bottom line-probably will need a new motherboard.
