Hi, we have a problem in our 1 domain native 2000 environment. 2 times now the current sysvol directory is replaced by an old version and the replaced information (policies) seems to be moved to directories named DD followed by a number (like dd265). Could this possibly be caused by backup software (we use BackupExec and also ARCserve in some sites)?

I'm not sure what could be causing this, but do you keep a backup of the directory somewhere so you can overwrite the old settings? Good luck. Glen A. Johnson

Yes, we do. But a few days after we restored the old policies directory, we experienced the same problem again. Again there were dd folders and the outdated policies were in place. Very strange. We opened a case for this with Microsoft yesterday.
