Oct 8, 2003 1 #2 skip555 Technical User Joined Apr 26, 2002 Messages 1,962 Location US you should run solid cable from patch panel to workstation terminate at the workstation with a jack from jack to the nic on the workstaion and from the patch panel to the switch use stranded patch cords I would sugest buying them premade solid wire should be installed so that it wont be flexed once installed flexing can break down the connection strande wire is used where the cable will be flexed. stranded wire has more restance than solid as a result the distance you can run it is greatly reduced Upvote 0 Downvote
