I have several stored procedures that create a temp table. We have recently had a situation where the database was hung up because of one of my procedures and I was told that there was a way around creating temp tables which may cause this hang up. Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks for any help

There are generally ways to avoid them, cursors are kinda similar, and nested subqueries can help you avoid them.

There are lots of good sites with SQL examples and some excellent books on database programming.

I would suggest that you move to a Database forum, though there are some reasonable SQL folk about, that isn't the common denominator nor strength here.

When you do post again, I suggest that you add in the type of database, version, and example code.
