STORE.EXE is using up about 75% to 95% of the cpu time on a dual PIII/1000 system with a gig of ram. The user base is only 50, and traffic is low. It causes the SMTP queue to stutter, although it always recovers.

As soon as the users leave for home it drops down to a nice 2% to 5%. How do I go about tracking down what (or who) is responsible?

We use a program called message track loop detect to track who could be having lots of mail - mostly used to track loops.

Have you looked at the mailbox size of users to see if anyone is getting lots of stuff? How about what is in the queue? Not much else that users could do to bog down the server. Dan

Well for a short time I noticed 10 messages in the the queue that must have about three megs a piece. I'll try a google search on "message track loop" and see if I can figure out what's going on.

How do I get this program message track loop?

Anyway I've found the "culprit". A certain user pegs the system the minute she logs on. After she logs off the system returns to normal. Even though she could browse her email yesterday she cannot today. Outlook 2000 logs on to the server, opens her outlook today page and locks up. The server remains at a high utlization rate until I kill the outlook process.

Any idea on what is going on?

Try to access her mailbox from a different client. Dan
