Dear Support users, we use Exchange 5.5 with Service pack 4, it on Windows NT 4 using Service pack 6. The server is a Dell Poweredge and is a dual 1Ghz with 1.5 Gigs of memory. We have 500 users and the server was running fine a few months ago, but has recently over time has started struggle. When we check the CPU's are flat lining and it's all down to the STORE.EXE, this can happen 10 times a day and users are starting to call us to say their Outlooks are frozen etc. What do you think it could be?

Kind Regards

Andy

There are a couple of reasons this could happen. There are also a number of threads that talk about this issue in this forum (search on "store 100 cpu"). Check out the suggestions in the threads from the search - in my case, it was CA eTrust and the background scan issue.

Do you think re-applying service pack 4 for Exchange 5.5 and Service pack 6a for the OS would be a good start?

I think the best place to start is to do a little research, as ZBNET and I have suggested. There are a number of ways this could happen, searching thru this forum and the KB at MS, you will probably find a match and a fix for your situation.
