Stopping a movie within a movie all at the same time

I have my main movie and then a small movie within that main movie. I use the "stop" action to stop the main movie but the small movie continues to play. Is there a way to stop both of them at the same time?

yes, there is:

if your movie is inside a movieclip, then you just do:

my_mc.stop();
