Hi,

Our receptionists complain of having to answer too many wrong numbers. We had them log the called number and found almost all to be vacant DID's or CO trunks which we own. The PBX forwards vacant DN's to ATN.

To resolve this I would like to build a voice mail box to forward vacant dn's to.
I've seen mention of forwarding to a RAN as well.
How do I do this?

CTVN in the cust data block - calls to vacant numbers - right now probably ATT for attendant - can chg to RAN easily and give the typical = "you have reached a non-working number at ACME"

This will be in the CDB under INT_Data. You need to change the CTVN to ovf ovf ovf ovf. This will give all calls to vacant numbers overflow tone and cause the CO give a recording that the number is not in service if you have PRI. The other option is to give the call RAN treatment.

good tnphoneman, even easier than RAN if you are allowed to give re-order tone. Good post.

What ever works. Some customers do not have a RAN available and this is the only other option.

I don't know about your company, but the one I worked for that the receptionist complained about having to answer vacant DN's because employees where no longer with the company finally got let go because thats what they where paying her for. So I guess it's all up to Management and what they want.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

fed mandate says they will go to a vacant number recording or a live person, not a reorder or busy.. that said, the feds are not going to show up and cart you off,, if you did not find the problem, then look at rdr data as well.. one cust had us turn all vacant did into a single number that was maxp 1 to mail.. here we have a ran for that.. did's are the only vacants covered via the feds//

Boy, the Feds are into everything these days..... I just hope they never catch my 81C taking steroids.

That is why alot of people have their hands out because the FEDS have theirs in our pockets and there is nothing wlse to do with our hands.

Thanks so far for your answers. How do I print the current setup?

In LD 15 if I try to make a change I get an error:

REQ CHG
TYPE ISCH0600
TYPE
SCH0111
TYPE CTVN SCH0111
TYPE

REQ CHG
TYPE INT_SCH0600
TYPE

I was able to print and verify

ACCD OVF OVF OVF ATN
CTVN OVF OVF OVF ATN

I seem to be unable to make changes though as I get errors as indicated above.

REQ ISS

VERSION 1111
RELEASE 19
ISSUE 68

Obviously I am out of date in my version.
I tried on one of my newer version switches and was able to successfully make changes.
Are the CDB changes done from a different load in this version?

Thanks in advance

in 15 are you putting an underscore? don't do that

chg
int
it will return to you:
INT_DATA
cust:0

Thank you for your assistance.

I seem to get errors either way:

>LD 15
CDB000
MEM AVAIL: (U/P): 3235471 USED: 383228 TOT: 3618699
DISK RECS AVAIL: 591
REQ CHG
TYPE INT
SCH0111
TYPE INT_SCH0600
TYPE

TYPE

My NTPs for this switch have more missing pages than pages there.

I don't get it, unless your keyboard is sending hidden characters, try lower case???? the error comes back illigal input character, which isn't true, you on dial up or something??

Jumping to the INT_DATA is not an opiton on RLS 19

you have to go through the whole CDB till you get to the prompts....

Like triton said there is not gate opener short cut on RLS 19. Just CHG then CDB and enter till you get to your prompt.

Here's my change options

I am not seeing Int_Data or CTVN.
