Stop the Geek using Classic Style 1

At work i have to share a PC with a complete geek who insists that WindowsXP has to run in classic style, is there any way i can lock it into a style that i choose? The geek changes it by using System Properties->Advanced->Performance->Settings->Visual Effects->Adjust for best performance.

Disable the System Properties screen:


Enable/Disable System Properties Access from My Computer - Current User
[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
Data Type: REG_DWORD [Dword Value] // Value Name: NoPropertiesMyComputer
Value Data: [0 - Display Properties / 1 - Hide Properties]
Exit Registry and Reboot

Start, Run, gpedit.msc

Set the first four policies shown in the link below to "Disabled" from "Not configured":

Hey bcastner, maybe I'm being thick-headed here and you can help me out....I would suggest to BigDaz to have separate accounts for each person. Then each could have their own setting choices as well as prevent security and misuse issues. I was under the impression that settings as described by BigDaz are per profile. You being the XP expert (I have noticed you GREAT contributions to these forums) can maybe learn me right.

Some elements of "Classic" are per user; Themes, Start Menu appearance, Control Panel applets, etc..

But System Properties, where this is being set, is Global to all users of the machine.
