i know this isnt really the best place to post but hopefully someone can input

i want to stop pc's at a site going to gator - ideally we can irradicate the "infectio" later but just now i want to stop the traffic

our border manager is further to the level so it stops it at point of departure but i want to stop this at a site level

is it possible to put something in dns to resolve it to something harmless or something or any ideas

dns is on netware 6.5

That's what I do for some. I set up my own DNS servers as authoritative for gater.com and a couple of others.

so you mean just create a gator.com zone and then where do you point it - just a 127.0.0.1 or ?

A zone doesn't point need to point anywhere. You could create an 'A' record for if you like, and point it to localhost or your own web server.

I just create the zone and let it to. Any queries to the zone won't be resolved.

yep true

out of curiousity what others are you including?

whenu.com, kneedfulthings.com and cometcursor.com.

I think there was another, but I had to remove it in order to perform an uninstallation (like needing the Microsoft or Lotus CD to uninstall an office suite).
