I am curious if there is some way to get micros res3700 to not print the closed check every time you close it as cash?? My bartenders are going through rolls of paper a night and it just gets in the way honestly..
Never mind... think i got it.. under userworkstations i set the customer receipt printer to none.. just kinda waiting to see if this causes a problem in a different area i havent thought of yet..
You may be better of unchecking the Print Check option for the Cash tender (Configurator | Sales | Tender/Media | Printing).
Clearing the receipt printer from the workstations means that you won't get a closed check receipt for any kind of payment, and you'll never be able to print a receipt from that workstation, even if your customer asks for one.
Off the back of Jeff's question above, at our resort we have a number of all inclusive breaks during the year which means our bar RVC's are hammered by the guests obviously taking full advantage, this results in countless boxes of till rolls being consumed over a year period, these receipts are of no use to the guest and are just being thrown in the bin.
Just to explain, we have three additional tender media options, ALL INC FRI, ALL INC SAT & ALL INC SUN that we use to tender the AI checks. We have all printing options cleared for this Tender Media Type, but receipts still continue to print...
I'm assuming that these are all fast transactions, is that correct? There isn't really a need to run a tab if you're not paying for the drinks.
If that's the case, I'd enable the Print Customer Receipt On Demand options for your bar RVCs during these breaks, (Configurator | Revenue Center | RVC Printing | Options).
Our bars also process other drinks (for directors, managers, beauty salon... etc etc) during the guest only AI periods, some are added to tabs that runs through the day, but a hard copy receipt is still required to be placed in takings bag at close of play for our cashiers (they are a little set in their ways and REALLY like paper) although MyMicros would easily provide them with access to the required information.
Your option above would also be great if the AI breaks ran all the way from Fri >through> Monday AM, but some are Fri or Sat only, so this option would require me 'Remembering' to remote in to the site on my days off to disable the Receipt on Demand option.
To note, we also run a 50% discount on certain premium drinks during the AI periods, i.e Cocktails and Champagne, so most guests require receipts for these particular transactions....unfortunately I think the staff would forget during the onslaught of orders to press the 'On Demand Receipt' button before another bartender swipes into the till, they are so used to the system automatically printing the receipts.
It just seems really strange that in a Tender Media settings, removing all print options still doesn't stop a check from printing if that Tender Media option is used....
God damn my logical mind for expecting software to just do what it's told
