The xp i bought was actually bought with my system, i had the system made and the xp installed at this computer store, but it crashed, so i go to reinstall it, and discover that i lost the product key number, but i also have the professional edition of xp, so i want to take the first xp(home edition) which is half installed off of my pc, and put in the professional edition, PLEASE HELP ME I AM DYING WITHOUT MY PC!!!!!! Should I reformat my hardrive to clean it off? help me please

By all means, set your BIOS to boot from the CD and do so...use Fdisk to make your partition(s) and then format it and install...there's lots of help on the web for doing it...I personally have found XP to be the easiest install yet.
Yeah, some people will say just install it like it is without formatting...nah, don't listen to 'em...start clean.///make all new messes...
Oh, and when you get thru, set the BIOS boot order like you want it...

Did you see the help links that Linney sent you in your previous post....or are you still having problems?
