I don't understand the stats regarding my tapes. Here is what I am Getting.
1st. USED: 14.1 GB 2nd. 5.65 3rd. 12.4
AVAIL: 5.47GB 10.8 6.51
TOTAL: 14.5GB 14.4 14.4
WRITTEN: 14.1GB 27.5 22.5

I don't understand in 2nd tape that the written count was 27.5 gb and the used was 5.65 gb, shouldn't they be the same???? and I don't understand how the total count is 14.4 and the written count is higher at 27.5. Is there a bug in the software???

Is the second tape set to overwrite only? Let's say you have two tapes: A is set to append and B is set to only overwrite. Each day you copy 5 GB to each tape.

1st Day
A = 5 GB used
5 GB written
B = 5 GB used
5 GB written

2nd day
A = 10 GB used
10 GB written
B = 5 GB used
10 GB written

On day 2, tape B overwrote (reused) the 5 GB that was used the first day. In other words, tape A has two days of backups, but tape B only has one day - the 2nd day. That's two days written to both tapes, but only one day of data on tape B.
