We have tie lines to other offices in the country. Recently, at the main site, we have been receiving complaints of static on the tie lines. 4 channels only to the remote site. I have tried using the Facilty Test Call FAC, but correct me if I am wrong, it is only for loop start or ground start trunks? What is one way of testing? I have tested the board through software and everything checks out. I have a BI for the TAC on my phone and I have see it busy once in the past week for approx 2 minutes. I have statused calls across the pipe and traced to determine if it is a specific trunk. All to no avail. Any help or direction is appreciated. Thank you in advance.\

Is your system synchronized? All T-1/E-1 circuits have to be synced otherwise you get static and popping. A pretty good test is FAX transmissions between the two locations. Since FAX is data any interference will be pretty evident. To check the synchronization so a 'status sync'. Hopefully it will show a Primary and Secondary source. It should say 'DS-1 enabled'. If it says 'Tone-Bd' that could be your poblem.
