Whenever certain users log into a Citrix session they receive this message at start up:

Cannot find the file
"w:\lblake\Windows\WT\Updater\wcmdmgrl.exe (or one of its componenets) Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available"

I can't seem to get rid of it. Is it something in the registry? There is nothing in the start menu. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I had never heard of this file. There are some files that we do see failing. So I looked it up. It seems to be an update program for a game from WildTangent.

Chances are, to answer your question, there is quite likely registry entries. If you know what your doing, waste them, also try looking in the Startup folder and SysEdit startup files. But.....

I have seen similar messages appear when an application is entered into the Application property of the client. Filemon or Regmon may help you to track this down.

sierrapeac,

Open regedit and do a search on wcmdmgrl.exe When you find the entry in the registry look and see what other information is there to determine if it is a good idea to delete the key. If this is a program that is not needed delete the key. If it is a program you need you might want to reinstall it.
Hope this helps.

Hi
am not sure if it is useful, but I found the registry key.
Not too difficult :)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

The reason I am posting even though this thread is quite old is because of this link

This one is related to Citrix.

- some kind of spyware ? (they claim its not).
