Starting & Stopping a service as an automated task?

Hi

We have a sql service that we would like to start at a 08:00 and end at 17:30 at night via some sort of script or task

We would like to automate the process if possible, I have googled and can't seem to find anything useful

The reason we would like to automate the service is that we currently have to start stop it daily so that a file can get backed up successfully at night using veritas

I would appreciate any help or comments to help us automate this tedious task!

look up 'net start' and 'net stop'

put the required commandline into a batchfile then schedule to start at the required times

Simply enough create (2) scheduled tasks
1. net start mssqlserver
To run at 8:00am
2. net stop mssqlserver
To run at 17:30pm
