Starting over - don't want to screw it up

I have a machine with 2 large hard drives running W2K pro. They are partitioned into about 6 logical drives or partitions. I would like to startover by killing all thepartitions and logical drives, and just install OS on one drive with the other as slave. I see I can kill them in Disk Manager, but I don't know if it's safe or not. I just need to make sure I can boot up and reinstall OS

What steps should I take?

Load up with windows 2000 disk, delete all partitions, create one new one, format using ntfs and install windows 2000. Thats all you need to do.

Once windows is loaded and installed you can access the other drive, delete its partitions and format it using ntfs.

If I were you, I'd disconnect one hard drive so that you know which disk you are loading windows on (assuming you care which one).

Hi snorkel, I can easily tell which drive since thay are master/slave connected. It probably doesn't matter which drive, but for consistency sake, I'll go for the master drive.

Thanks electronicsfreak. I'll go that route. It's been so long since I did this, I didn't know that the install would allow you to delete the partitions.

n/p and yeah It will give you a choice. Just delete all the partitions and make one partition and format using ntfs.
