HI, one problem, among many, I'm having with a CD-ROM presentation I've created is as follows:

normally, double-clicking an HTML file loads a window with a link to another HTML file. This file calls the flash movie in yet another window which is resized and centered on the screen.

This all works perfectly when run from the HD. It also works perfectly when IE is already running and the file is either opened from within the browser or double-clicked on the CD.

HOWEVER, if IE is NOT already running and the HTML file on the CD is double-clicked to start the ball rolling, the flash movie will play through without stopping as it was designed to do!

Some more info:
This happens only on Mac OS9 (no comments, please. . . important for the market in question)

THIS ONLY happens with IE, not with navigator, which has other issues! ;-)

Machine is running IE 5 with Flash 6 plugin.

Remember works perfectly in ALL situations EXCEPT when IE is not yet running and the HTML file is double clicked. Interestingly, if you start IE from a different file, not and HTML file, i.e. a copy of IE, also located on the CD, THEN you are able to double click the HTML file and the presentation runs without trouble as well.

I'm starting to think this is an odd bug in either IE 5 for OS 9 or in the IE FLash plugin. Any ideas?

Correction!!!

This also occurs with Navigator so it may very well be a plugin issue. Still, would appreicate any feedback.

Determined the problem on my own. It IS a bug in the Mac OS 9 version of the flash plugin! Verified through long hours of testing. I don't know if anyone here really needs this feature or cares but there it is.
