starting C++ self training

I well versed with c(Turboc) but I find many jobs require c++ and I feel it is time I started learning c++ I'm confident I can do it can You suggest source of literature especially for a begginner from the Internet?

Secondly I still doubt the practical application of C++ what real life situations I'm I likely to confront that will require C++

Here's a link on some things I compiled.


I would suggest the downloadable book "Thinking in C++", since you are familiar with C - and because it's FREE. Other stuff is there, but I would suggest going with the free stuff first. A lot of good things out there right now.
