Hi,

To cut a long story short I want to clear out the entire contents of the hard drive and reinstall Windows 2000 (it is currently installed over Win98, and it's a bit messy!).

I have bootable disks, installation disks, etc. But how do I actually get started with this task? Can I boot up in DOS mode and reformat the hard drive that way??

Alex

Boot to the CD (If your BIOS supports it) and you can reformat during the setup process. Fish

For installing windows 2000 in Fat 32 mode there is no need for reformatting. But If u want to change it in to NTFS then u have to format the entaire Disk. But it will prompt for the Reformatting while installation.Either u can boot from CD or Boot from win98 start up Disk. I u r booting from win98 start up diskette, go to I386 directory and type winnt

Expectin this is u needed.
