My advice is a bit broad, but very applicable...
#1 Learn to LOVE working with computers. Eat, Drink, and Breath the technology. If you are doing it to make an easy buck or just to have a job, you are probably going to fail or have very limited success.
#2 Forget training classes. Money is better spent on self-study and practice. I have taken three certification exams so far and have passed each one the first time. I did this by studying/practicing from two different study guides written by different authors and achieving 80% or better on FREE practice tests. I have often found that one author leaves out details the others don't.
#3 Think on providing excellent service to customers. Be always honest, kind, objective, generous, sincere, committed, diplomatic, and passionate with people. This will get you much further in the long run than trying other tactics. This item is needed to open the door if you EVER want a chance at applying the first two items mentioned.
Just my thoughts, you asked.
