Start- Programs- Empty

I recently had to reinstall windows XP- all my programs are still there if you go to MY COMPUTER and go to them but they do not appear when you go to START - PROGRAMS-

Any way to get them to appear in the START - PROGRAMS window?

When you reinstalled XP, did you do it exactly like this:
