Weird issue.

I've got a user who utilizes a laptop which is a member of our domain.

When he's connected to the domain, either on site or via VPN, everything works fine for him.

When he's not (replicated by unplugging network and rebooting and logging in), his Start Menu -> Programs is empty of all shortcuts.

When browsing to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs, the shortcuts are all there.

Copying the shortcuts to the user directly (C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu\Programs) solves nothing, either.

Any idea? I'm assuming some odd policy is preventing this, as he's not connected to the network/domain, but I can't figure this out.

Hi,
Is there more than 1 profile for that user ( one for his domain account and one for local only) - When logging in while off the network, it may use a different profile.

[profile]

I'll check that, but it appears that he's using the same domain account to login to the PC (cached password or something), instead of a local account when the PC is not on the network.

I'll check the profiles, though, and get rid of what's not being used.
