SSL VPN Question

Hi All

I have been asked to research an SSL VPN solution and was looking for some pointers. I have read a lot about SSL VPN and it seems great but I am confused on one point: Most of my users use vpn (IPSec) to access MS Outlook from home (Outlook is installed on their home pc) and they are able to access the Exchange server as though they were in the office. Does SSL vpn allow this functionality? From what I have read it does not seem that it would. But I could be, and hopefully am, wrong
