Hi all,

I'm having some issues with my Exchange server. I'm trying to enable SSL over SMTP but am getting the following error in my client:

The server does not support a SSL connection. Account: '64.XX.XX.XX', Server: '64.XX.XX.XX', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 CHUNKING', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D

I have one server, not a front-end/back-end setup. I also created my cert via cert. services. This is how my server is configured:

Under "Access" tab in SMTP virtual server I have "Require secure channel" checked

Under "Authentication" I have Anon access checked. Basic auth. checked and "Require TLS" checked.

In the Delivery tab Under Outbound connections I have TLS checked.

Any ideas??? I'm stumped and people need this yesterday!!

Thanks!

I'm not trying to get OWA running. This is for Outlook/OE clients and I'm making the change to the SMTP Virtual Server

I see, sorry I didn't realise. Have you made the appropreate security changes in IIS under 'default website' - 'ExchWeb'?

From my vague memory of setting it up, changes made in SMTP virtual server are overriden by IIS settings.

try this on all your exchange related directories(4 alltogether)...
every one should have basic and integraded authentication checked.....exchweb should also have annonymous checked...
NO TLS OR ANYTHING ELSE...
also you should have ssl enabled only on two virtual directoried exchange and public...on the other two do not enable SSL...

This thread is verring off to OWS. It's NOT OWA and SMTP isn't overridden by OWA. I think it's a Watchguard issue.
