SSL on OWA

I have tried everything possible to enable SSL on my exchange server. I created my own certificate on the server by installing certificate services. I can successfully create and install my own certificate on the exchange server. I have followed all the intructions possible , but every time I enable SSL on OWA I get a page cannot be displayed.

Is there any way of testing the one I created?
Is it better to purchase a certificate instead?

This is the document I initially used to create and install my certificate. Is there an extra setting in Windows 2003 server that I've overlooked? Have u followed this same document?

This is the document I used, with no difficulties.

The only thing I can think of is if you're tryng to connect through a firewall you'll have to open up the 443 port and make sure you're typing https.

One of the charming "features" that I've found when enabling SSL on IIS is that it sometimes doesn't populate the "SSL Port" field on the Web Site tab of the Site properties. This will cause the kind of error you are seeing.

I'm having the same issue and can't figure this out yet. I can't even browse it on the local server. If I disable SSL then I can access OWA just fine.

Enable SSL at the site level, but do not set the "require SSL" option. If you want to set that feature, set it only on the /exchange virtual directory.
