Hi,

I have a web server setup to accept subdomains
i.e. mail.123.com as a virtual server (intercepting host headers.

My main site has SSL (port 443) is it possible to get mail.123.com to use SSL (i.e. with out being intercepted by the usage of port 443.

Help

Cheers

It's ok, I've found out the answer.

If anyone is interested it because, (generally) the host header will be encrypted on a SSL connection, therefore IIS can determine which virtual web site to go to. Hence it generally goes to the first one.

Did you find a way to do this???

Or is your answer that no you can do it... all must use the same host name?

I guess it's OK for me to use the same HOST name for all web sites on my server when they need to direct to a SSL connection... but I'm still trying to figure out how to set up multiple sites on my server.

1. I have only one public static IP address.
2. I have only one NIC connected to this public IP address.
3. This NIC can bind more than one IP address to itself if necessary. Sincerely,
John Ford
