Hi,

I created some DTS packages to transfer some data from one server to another that was going to be scheduled off hours using the SQL Server Agent Jobs. I went to schedule and figured out that their server doesn't have the SQLServerAgent service.

I haven't done an install of SQL Server 7.0 in a while but I can't remember this being a choice in the setup. Can anybody clear this up for me?

Thanx

JB

I don't think SQLAgent is installed separately. There should an entry in your services that says something like "SQLAgent...". Start that service and try schedule your DTS again.

Hi Andel,

Thanks for responding so promptly.

As I said there is not a SQLServerAgent service in their server's services. That is why I was wondering if this was a choice to install or not.

Any ideas how it might not be there as it looks like SQL Server is running correctly.
