SQLServerAgent notifications

Hi..

I received the following message when multiple jobs were executing simultaneous. The jobs were running on SQL Server 2000.
Message:
The maximum number of pending SQLServerAgent notifications has been exceeded. The notification will be ignored.

Has anyone seen this message and can explain what this means?
