SQLServer Trigger problem

I have a trigger on a master table that inserts records into a temporary table with data from the master and its details. This works fine on Oracle database bu t not in MSS SQLServer. The table has a composite key on three fields a float(8) and two real data types.

I do a 'select into a local var from inserted' syntax. The local var is also float(8) and is used in the insert into the other table keyed similarly. But the inserted record has a different value in the float(8) field suggesting that the syntax is not working.

The other part of the problem is that the table has a column named 'sequence'. When I refer to the column name in the trigger it is interpreted not as a column name but (presumably) a SQLServer reserved word. Is there any way of referencing the column within the code without it being interpreted as a reserved word?

Any help would be appreciated
