No matter which application is being used, the first time I make a connection to our Sql Server it's slow. Then each time after that is lightening fast.

I'm using Sql Server Authentication.

Scott,

I think that is just a product of the fact that when the application is first being run it has to log into the server. The best way that i can think of around that is to make a connection but get no info from the server when the app is first starting. this will only allow the users to see the lightning fast connections that they all like. It may cause the app to load a little slower but I think that the trade off is worth it because you don't have users asking why the first connection is slower than the rest.

I also thought about doing that to "speed" up the app. Thanks for the input.
