Am trying to restore to a new DB from a backup. I get the message "The Media Set for Database X has 2 Family members, but only one are provided. All members must be provided. Backup or Restore terminating abnormally".

Does anyone know how to resolve this, or at least any idea about what's going on?

Did you backup you database to two files? The message essentially means "the backup was done to two files but you are trying to restore form one." It is rtather easy to specify two backup files when doing a backup from Enterprise Manager. Check the backup folder for additional files. Or check msdb.dbo.backupmediafamily for multiple files.
