SQL2000 DB to be accessed over the Internet

I have a server and I want the SQL2000 DB to be accessed over the Internet through a simple ADO connection string. How do I start this?

First this would be very dangeruos as you have to harden your network and systems security. The recent SQL Slammer virus is impetus enough not to open sql databases directly through the internet. You my consider using an
IIS web server as a front ent to the SQL database.

Enough said about security, you will need to open up the sql server port through the firewall and connect normally as you would connect to a local database.

Well maybe you didn't understand my need.

1. I want to connect to the DB through the Enterprise Manager across the Internet.

2. I want to connect to the DB through an ADO connection string through an ASP page across the Internet.

Is that more clear?
