Sql Server's tempdb

I would like to add another data & log file for my tempdb, but need to know if this will require a reboot to be used ? Or if no reboot is required, can I do it in the middle of a production day without any adverse impact ?

Thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

It should be ok to add the files without any adverse effects.
