hello all....

i have my website working with sql server 2000 ... and whenever i put the server online it continuously uploads data to someplace i dont know where(!!) and it congests all the network in the office....
i thought it is is the sql slammer worm, but i checked the pc and i blocked the UDP 1434 port that symantec said that the worm uses but still i get this weird upload activity!!

can anyone help me out??

Regards,
The HMS

You mean it clogs the network before anyone has ever hit it? Do you open connections or do any queries when the site is at rest?

Just looking for a place to start debugging this!

yes.... it fills the network with packets... no other computer on the network can have access to anything..

and when the site is at rest, nothing is happening... the connections r open only when a user connects the database via a an asp page... ie. like when retrieveing data to be viewed on the page....

Are you saying the problem only occurs when sql server is running ?

If yes have you looked at the sql logs and current processes activity for any clues.

If not have you eliminated a faulty NIC.

thats a good place to start SonOfEmidec1100 ....

i am new in using SQL Server 2000... so if u could pls just tell me from where can i get the processes activity and the logs i would be thankful....

Tnank You,
The HMS
