Good day folks,

I am new to Sql Server, and I have installed a copy of SQL Server 2012 on a Server 2008 R2 machine via VM Workstation. I have some questions regarding how I would set up SQL server to be able to communicate with either a Web Server such as Apache or something else. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The other machines such as Apache or other machines are also going to be ran in a virtual environment.

Thanks!!

You communicate with a SQL Server dabatase either directly through SSMS (install on client machine), or through an application (refer to your SQL Server by name or IP address in the connection string, preferably through a web service).

MCP SQL Server 2000, MCTS SQL Server 2005, MCTS SQL Server 2008 (DBD, DBA)

Am I stating the obvious if I say ODBC (for connectivity) over a VPN (for security)?

cheers
