The Best place to Start is the Books On Line and the MSDN knowledge Base, and then from there you may try some books

My current preferences for books include:

Inside SQL Server 2000 by Kalen Delaney
(Excellent reference for many aspects of SQL Server administration and development.)

SQL Server 7 Adminstrator's Guide by Ron Talmage
(SQL 2000 version due out July 31.)

The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL by Ken Henderson.
(Solid book that can help beginner as well as seasoned professional learn T-SQL.)

Professional SQL Server 2000 DTS (Data Transformation Services) by Mark Chaffin, Brian Knight & Todd Robinson
(Excellent DTS reference.)
