Our SQL Server agent stopped last Tuesday 11/01. Our system backups are done by SQL Server agent jobs that I created.

Yet the SQL Server logs show that Database backups were performed early this morning anyway. Where would I find those backups? In the directory where the .mdf and .ldf are stored?

Thanks,
Alan

Backups are normally placed in the BACKUP folder which would be located in the parent folder of the DATA folder.

However they can be placed anywhere depending on where the backup command told them to be placed.

Check the SQLSERVERAGENT service in the services icon in the Administrator Tools Control Pannel. If it is running then the SQL Agent is running.
