First of all, I am entirely new to SQL Server. Taking that into account, I have installed SQL Server 2000 on our Dual P3 1 Ghz server. I purchased 2 processor licenses and SQL Server licensing setup indicates 2 processors licensed. I have installed SP3a and all available updates. When I look at SQL Server Properties in Enterprise Manager it shows only 1 processor. (CPU 0) Did I make an error during installation, or is this normal behavior?

Thanks

Mark

No, that's not normal at all. It should show you the 2 processors.(CPU 0 and CPU 1).

First make sure that windows can see both processors. Check task manager and make sure that it shows both processors.

Make sure that you didn't install SQL on your workstation by accident, and are connecting to that instance.

If need be reboot the server and make sure that both CPUs show up to the BIOS.

If you have windows 2000 make sure that they both show up in Computer Managment.

I'm not sure where else you can check. Was the OS installed with a Single processor, and them upgraded to dual processor?
