sql server 2005express or 2000

Hello,

I've never used sql server before. I usually use an access database or mySql. I have a legacy php app using mysql and I'm moving it to a windows server and plan to use sql server instead.

I am either going to install sql server 2005 express or use 2000 which is already on a seperate server.

How do I even get started? Is there a gui for sql server? Which is easier to use? I'm leaning toward using the express edition. Is there a good tutorial. I'm going to use it for this php app and later on for asp.net apps.

Is SQL Server Management Studio Express CTP the current best tool for creating and editing databases? Is there a web editior similar to phpMyAdmin?

Management Studio is ok for both 2000 and 2005 databases. I quite like the layout - it's pretty intuitive and easy to navigate around.
