Does anyone know if you can run sql server 2000 on windows xp professsional.

I dont think u can install SQL Server 2000 on xp professional... but u can install MSDE though....

thanks - would u happen to know why you cant install it on xp pro.
 
I am currently running SQL 2000 on My XP Pro Development Box. Its a resource hog but is ok on My p4 2Gig with 512MB of Ram.
 
ok just looked it up:

SQL Server 2000 enterprise and standard editions cant run on XP but hte other editions can.
