Good day all,
I am relatively new to SQL Server and Enterprise Manager, alas I am getting the hang of it. We are running SQL Server 2000, with an append backup to disk scheduled each night. The backup file is now starting to become rather large, and we are starting to run low on disk space. Upon viewing the contents of the .bak file, I noticed that the backups go back about 2 months. My question is, is there a way to prune some of the older dates from the .bak file? Or maybe a way to delete the oldest day each night when the new backup is run? I am assuming something like this can be done, however scripting is not my strong point. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
