Is there a nice - getting started guide? I simply would like to take the northwind db and create a few very simple reports - educational purposed only (at this time).

Thanks,

SQL Queries for Mere Mortals by Hernandez and Viescas is very good

I've done a limited ammount of SQL, and a very, very, very limited ammount of report work.

I've had more trouble with the reporting side of things, especialy with the internet\IIS crap that comes with SQL Reporting Services, than I did ever did with the actual SQL Query Language, so it might be worth looking into books on SQL Reporting Services rather than books on SQL.

Heresa quick search on Amazon. Seems like I've heard good things about the Hitchhiker's Guide...

And here is a good introductry course to SQL. Oughta be plenty to get you started on reports....

Beware, you are about to enter the world where error messages make one groan in agony, dropped databases make one scream in pain, and reporting concepts make one writhe in migranes....Gluck :)
