Does anyone know an easy way to convert a Microsoft SQL Report to an Oracle report with minimal lost of database fields. I had a SQL database and an Oracle database with the exact tables and everything. I made this complicated SQL report and now I want to convert it to Oralce with out having to start from scratch. Normaly when I do the conversion, I loose the database fields that are on the reports. I have found that if I put fields within formulas that helps a little. If any one has a better way of converting to different database platforms please let me know. Currently I am using Crystal 8.5. Thanks

Eddie

If your table names are the same, and your field names are the same, it should go pretty smoothly. Do a Database / Set Location for each table in the report. If there's a mismatch, usually you get a Map Field diaog box that will come up.

Also, Crystal advocates using their own Oracle ODBC driver, not Microsoft's or Oracle's. Their driver comes from Merant and you can download it from Crystal.
