SQL Mail setup with Lotus Notes mail system

Hi,
I am trying to setup SQL Mail to work with Lotus notes.
We are running SQL Server 7.0. Please, kindly help me what I need to do, to get my SQL Mail to work with Lotus notes. I need to setup some Alerts to send me an e-mail,notifications if there is problem.

Your help is greatly appreciated.
