SQL Mail Configuration

I need help on configuring SQL Mail to send from SQL Server whenever and Update happens to a particulare table.

1, I am using the Domain1/Administrator account on Windows 2000 Server.
2, I have configured a profile on MS Outlook 2000 with the account Domain2/AUTOMAIL.
3, When I click on Start from the SQL Mail, it gives me logon failed error.
4, If I use EXEC xp_startmail 'Domain2/AUTOMAIL','password' I get the same logon failure error.

What am I doing wrong here?
What do I have to do inorder to configure it right.

Please give me details in steps

A few things you didn't mention in your post, so you should double-check them:
1) The MSSQLServer service should start up with the account that you will be using for SQLMail. (Domain2/Automail)
2) The "Profile name" in the SQLMail properties should be the domain/account name. I've had problems with this in the past, but "MS Exchange Settings" usually works fine. "MS Exchange Settings" referrs to who ever is logged in at the time. Since the MSSQLServer service has been set to login as the account with the mail profile, it will use the correct profile.
3) Make sure you can actually send mail through your mail profile.

Thanks mfairchild for your reply. I didn't try it yet. Before that I have some more concerns. Please look into it.

Does that mean I have to login to the network with Domain2/AutoMail account or just reconfigure the MSSQLServer to use the Domain2/AutoMail account to start the Service?

Another question is I configured the Mail profile to prompt for the username and password. Does this option need to be removed inorder to make it work properly?
